Google Maps (finalmente) si prepara per le mappe su SD e funziona con Android N dev preview 4
Google Maps 9.31 è l'ultima versione attualmente in rollout della nota app, e finalmente funziona in maniera corretta sulla quarta developer preview di Android N, abilitando anche la corrispondente mini-app per Android Wear, finora assente. L'app funziona inoltre correttamente anche con Android Auto (al contrario della precedente versione) e dà anche qualche ritocco grafico alla cronologia delle posizioni, ma queste sono le cose meno interessanti in realtà.
Ciò che ci entusiasma di più, sebbene non ancora disponibile, è quanto scovato all'interno dell'apk, ovvero tracce di un futuro supporto alle mappe offline su schede SD. Trovate qui sotto le stringhe a riprova di ciò, ma dobbiamo precisare che, in base a quanto sembra, non potrete spostare su microSD le vostre mappe già scaricate, ma dovrete effettuare nuovamente il download; e questo vale per ogni volta che deciderete di cambiare la vostra posizione di memorizzazione.

C'è comunque la possibilità che sia un'implementazione incompleta, e del resto la funzione non è ancora attivabile, ma sarebbe comunque strano prevedere una stringa per una opzione che poi non sarà presente, pertanto non ci facciamo troppe illusioni. In ogni caso ne riparleremo senz'altro quando questa opzione sarà ufficialmente disponibile; per adesso vi lasciamo il link al download diretto dell'apk, se voleste provarlo subito.
