Anche Google Maps ha in serbo novità interessanti per il futuro

Google Maps per Android è sicuramente uno dei tasselli più importanti del mosaico di applicazioni realizzate da Google. L'applicazione è stata di recente aggiornata alla versione 9.26.1, ed il teardown della stessa ha rivelato nuove funzionalità in dirittura d'arrivo.

Il tutto è rivelato da stringhe di testo presenti nel file .apk dell'ultima versione di Google Maps:

• condivisione ora d'arrivo presso una data località e condizioni del traffico in tempo reale, tramite pulsante dedicato e messaggi pre-impostati
• possibilità di creare un widget nella homescreen dedicato a viaggi comunemente effettuati, funzionalità già presente ma che verrà consigliata dall'applicazione quando saranno effettuate più ricerche relative ad una medesima destinazione
• cronologia delle posizioni relativa a più giorni condensata in una sola mappa, come già accade per la versione web (attualmente nell'applicazione è possibile visualizzare il tutto esclusivamente giorno per giorno)
• identificazione luoghi raggiungibili in carrozzina
• messaggio toast dedicato quando una destinazione è irraggiungibile a piedi od utilizzando biciclette, bus, taxi
• visualizzazione consiglio sul rendere offline le indicazioni utili a raggiungere una destinazione, quando l'applicazione capirà che durante il tragitto potrebbe non esserci copertura dati
• possibilità di attivare notifiche relative a luoghi nuovi e popolari
• conteggio chilometri percorsi e possibilità di condivisione del totale, con annesse congratulazioni da parte dell'applicazione.
