Google Living Room sarà il nuovo nome per Android TV?
Tra oggi e domani Google terrà una conferenza per sviluppatori chiamata Ubiquity Dev Summit e nel programma delle sessioni, come è capitato in passato per il Google I/O, c'è qualche inizio su futuri prodotti, o magari su un possibile rebranding.
In particolare stupisce la presenza di Living Room ("salotto" in inglese), che compare in diversi passaggi all'interno delle varie sessioni:
“Go where your users are: the living room! With Living Room and the Leanback library, you easily can add a big screen, cinematic experience to your app.”
“The more challenging it is to get design/implementation right, the more potential you have to win in the space. Why consumer products like Living Room & Chromecast offer a very real chance to define new game markets through superior implementation considering system constraints.”
“Bring your questions to a casual chat with our Living Room & Chromecast experts.”

Potrete notare, anche senza sapere l'inglese, come Living Room viene accostato spesso e volentieri a Chromecast, come se fossero due prodotti complementari o quantomeno simili. La mancanza di una menzione ad Android TV poi non fa altro che supportare l'ipotesi che si tratti di un rebranding. Ne sapremo di più nelle prossime ore però, quindi non ci rimane che aspettare.
