ASUS rilascia un tool per lo sblocco del bootloader di ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML)
Questa mattina potremmo quasi parlare di "Good guy ASUS": dopo il lancio sull'e-shop italiano/europeo delle nuove Zen Case Fusion per ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML) ecco arrivare anche un tool, o meglio, un apk, per lo sblocco del bootloader di ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML).
È la stessa ASUS tramite un post sul sito ufficiale MyZen ad annunciare la disponibilità di tale tool per lo sblocco del bootloader specificando che il suo rilascio servirà agli utenti per poter installare software custom sui propri ZenFone 2 e per permettere alla community di usufruire delle varie custom ROM realizzate finora.

Lo sblocco del bootloader, a quanto pare, è davvero facile: è necessario scaricare un apk direttamente dal sito ASUS al link che troverete nel disclaimer qui di seguito: nel menu a tendina selezionate Android come OS, clicccate poi su Utilitiese scaricate il file alla voce Download.
Attenzione però: ASUS avverte i propri utenti sulle conseguenze che poterà lo sblocco del bootloader, in primis la perdita della garanzia sul prodotto. Sbloccando il bootloader inoltre non riceverete i prossimi aggiornamenti OTA e a quanto pare ASUS registra sui propri server tutti i dispositivi che fanno uso del tool.

Before you download, install, and use the Unlock Device App you acknowledge and assume complete risk to the quality and performance of this App, including but not limited to the following: once you activate the App you will not be able to recover your ASUS product (“Original Product”) back to original locked conditions; the Original Product with the activated App will not be deemed the Original Product; the Revised Product will no longer be covered under the warranty of the Original Product; the software of Revised Product will no longer be deemed the software of the Original Product and can no longer receive ASUS software updates; your purchased digital content may also be affected.
You also acknowledge ASUS does not guarantee service satisfaction to any Revised Product, including events involving paid service requested by you to be performed to the Revised Product.
Furthermore, such repaired Revised Product will not be covered under the warranty of the Original Product; the software of the repaired Revised Product will not be deemed the software of the Original Product and will not receive ASUS software updates. It is strongly advised that you avoid activating this App unless you fully understand and accept the risks that may arise.
Il tool pare inoltre essere specifico solo per la variante top di gamma ZE551ML. Non sappiamo quindi se potrebbe funzionare con successo anche sui modelli ZE550ML e ZE500CL.
