Ubisoft annuncia un nuovo capitolo di Prince of Persia

Dopo il rilascio della versione classica, Ubisoft rende ufficiale la notizia di inizio lavori sul nuovo capitolo di Prince of Persia, The Shadow and the Flame, pubblicando un trailer su YouTube.

Il gioco, la cui versione originale risale al 1993, continuerà a raccontare la storia della trilogia ma, sulla base di quanto sostengono le fonti, non sarà un semplice porting, al contrario sia la grafica, i controlli ed il gameplay sono stati appositamente ridisegnati per l'utilizzo su dispositivi mobile touchscreen.

In totale il gioco consterà di 15 livelli ed i giocatori potranno scegliere di utilizzare tra 25 diverse armi, come  i poteri elementali o tre diversi tipi di attacco.

SAN FRANCISCO - APRIL 11, 2013 - Today, Ubisoft® announced the continuation of its massively popular Prince of Persia® franchise with the introduction of Prince of Persia® The Shadow and The Flame, as well as a brand new free update for popular mobile title Rayman Jungle Run featuring 20 new levels.

Prince of Persia The Shadow and The Flame continues the incredible storytelling of the original trilogy while incorporating redesigned controls, graphics and gameplay with the convenience of a mobile device. Fans of the original Prince of Persia series will be thrilled to discover five beautifully rendered environments, each with their own unique mood and landscape. Prince of Persia The Shadow and The Flame was developed by Ubisoft Pune, the same studio that developed Prince of Persia® Classic HD for Android and iOS released in 2012.

Featuring a variety of gameplay mechanics that contributed to the success of the beloved series, Prince of Persia The Shadow and The Flame allows players a choice of controls: virtual sticks or tap-to-move. As players progress through 15 different levels, they can choose to use elemental powers, three types of attacks and over 25 weapons with special abilities to defeat brand-new foes in the extensive Prince of Persia universe that fans love so dearly.

Available soon for mobile devices, Prince of Persia The Shadow and The Flame continues the age-old saga of a wanderer, born a prince, who returns in search of his unknown past to redefine his future.

Rayman's journey through the jungle continues with 20 new levels in a free update for iOS and Android; with the Windows 8 version coming soon. The update features two worlds: Pirate Ship and Giant Plant.

The Pirate Ship levels will challenge players as they guide Rayman over tumbling rocks and away from fiery cannon balls. Meanwhile Daisy, the classic boss from Rayman Origins, makes an appearance in the new Giant Plant world. Rayman will have to run faster than ever to escape the spiky grip of prickly monsters. Two unlockable levels of the Livid Dead are also added for players who dare to compete in the ultimate challenge of speed and accuracy.

Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and Pastagames, Rayman Jungle Run is powered by the same UbiArt framework engine that delivered the highly-acclaimed Rayman Origins, winner of multiple Game of the Year and Platformer of the Year awards.
