Samsung Gear S ufficiale: niente Android Wear, ma display curvo e supporto 3G (foto)

Tanto per non farsi rubare la scena da LG, e anzi per cercare di fare altrettanto, Samsung ha svelato il suo nuovo smartwatch, che al contrario di quello del rivale casalingo non monta Android Wear, ma che spicca comunque per un profilo hardware di tutto rispetto.

Samsung Gear S, come potete apprezzare anche dal render in apertura, è infatti uno smartwatch con display curvo, il che gli consente di avere dimensioni piuttosto generose per la sua categoria, con uno schermo Super AMOLED da ben 2 pollici. Gear S è inoltre dotato di slot per SIM card, il che significa che la sua connessione alla rete può avvenire anche in modo autonomo rispetto allo smartphone accoppiato. Presente anche la certificazione IP67, per garantire a Gear S resistenza ad acqua e polvere.

Ottima la dotazione di sensori: accelerometro, barometro, giroscopio, bussola, monito per battito cardiaco, sensore UV,  e sensore di luminosità; peccato solo che la batteria sia rimasta da soli 300 mAh, il che non ci lascia sperare in un'autonomia stellare, tanto più se consideriamo la presenza della rete 3G.

Come avrete già intuito dalla pletora di sensori, Gear S ama il fitness: preinstallate troviamo S Health e Nike+ Running, mentre la navigazione è affidata a Nokia Here, dato che lo smartphone impiega Tizen e non Android Wear.

Gear S vorrebbe insomma racchiudere sia il Gear Fit che il Gear 2 in un unico dispositivo, ma per scoprire se ci sarà davvero riuscito dovremo attendere ottobre, quando lo smartwatch sarà in vendita, accompagnato anche da Gear Circle, una collana / auricolare Bluetooth che potrete apprezzare in una seconda galleria qui sotto.
