Mad Catz è il primo partner di OUYA Everywhere (e intanto taglia il prezzo di M.O.J.O. a 199$)

Annunciato giusto pochi giorni fa, il progetto OUYA Everywhere si arricchisce del suo primo partner, uno di quelli di spicco tra l’altro, perché parliamo di Mad Catz, autore, tra l’altro, della console Android con Tegra 4 M.O.J.O.

Proprio nell’articolo di presentazione di OUYA Everywhere, avevamo detto che l’interfaccia di quest’ultima si adatta molto meglio all’uso con il controller di quanto non faccia quella di M.O.J.O. (che in pratica è Android stock, ovvero un sistema pensato per l’utilizzo con touchscreen, non con gamepad); evidentemente a Mad Catz devono aver visto l’opportunità, e deciso di coglierla al volo, riducendo nel frattempo il prezzo della console a 199,99$ (ancora piuttosto salato), in modo da renderla più appetibile.

Dato l’hardware superiore di M.O.J.O., i giochi OUYA non rappresenteranno certo un problema, e chissà che dalla “fusione” delle due console, non possa nascere un progetto più convincente di quanto non siano state ciascuna delle due separatamente.

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. & SANTA MONICA, CALIF- Mar. 6, 2014 – Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. (“Mad Catz”) (NYSE MKT/ TSX: MCZ) and OUYA announced today a content agreement to bring OUYA® to the Mad Catz M.O.J.O.™ Micro-Console™ for Android™.  In addition, the price of M.O.J.O. will be reduced to an MSRP of $199.99 in the United States with similar price adjustments taking place in all major territories.

Announced earlier this week, the OUYA Everywhere initiative aims to bring OUYA to a wide variety of devices, with the M.O.J.O. Micro-Console being the first.  OUYA onM.O.J.O. is expected to debut later this spring with all existing and upcoming OUYA content available on the Mad Catz Micro-Console.
