OnePlus annuncia la partnership con CyanogenMod

La partnership che tutti stavano aspettando è appena divenuta ufficiale: OnePlus, la compagnia fondata dall'ex Vice Presidente di Oppo Pete Lau, e CyanogenMod, hanno stretto un'accordo che porterà alla nascita di OnePlus One, il primo smartphone prodotto dalla collaborazione tra le due aziende, che in barba ad HTC fa suo il termine "one". Due volte.

Le informazioni in merito a questo atteso dispositivo sono scarse, per non dire assenti. Ci aspettiamo che sia un top di gamma "di razza" (si parlava di Snapdragon 800 a 2,5 GHz e prezzo assai competitivo), ma è presto per parlare di specifiche precise, tantomeno del prezzo. Sappiamo solo che le due aziende mirano a rilasciarlo in alcuni mercati entro metà 2014, con una disponibilità più ampia a livello globale solo in seguito.

Terremo ovviamente d'occhio la situazione, perché se Pete Lau e Steve Kondik sono eccitati all'idea, altrettanto si può dire della comunità Android intera, che seguirà senz'altro con interesse l'intero progetto.

New Mobile Startup Announces Software Partner for Upcoming Flagship

SEATTLE – January 7, 2014– Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, and Steve Kondik, CTO of Cyanogen Inc., today announced the official partnership of OnePlus and Cyanogen Inc. for OnePlus’ flagship device. The CyanogenMod team will develop a customized software experience with specially designed features and exciting new elements debuting on the first OnePlus phone.

OnePlus and Cyanogen Inc. will collaborate on both hardware and software to create what will be the first commercial CyanogenMod product.
