Polaroid svela il suo primo tablet Android dedicato ai bimbi

Al CES di quest'anno verranno sicuramente presentate alcune interessanti novità in campo tecnologico, tra queste ci sarà anche il nuovo tablet Android progettato da Polaroid per un'utenza molto specifica: i bambini.

Il tablet, dotato di un display da 7 pollici, avrà una dotazione software di 35 applicazioni premium pensate per i bambini con Ice Cream Sandwich a governare il tutto. Molto curata la parte fisica del dispositivo che, grazie a dei paraurti in gomma su tutti i lati, lo rende a prova di caduta.

Polaroid ha divulgato le specifiche del tablet dotandolo di una batteria da 3500mAH, CPU Cortex-A8 da 1.0 GHz, 512Mb di ram DDR3 ed una fotocamera da 2MP.

La risoluzione di scherma non supera gli 800X480 ed il dispositivo viene distribuito con una memoria interna da 8Gb espandibile tramite MicroSD.

Da segnalare l'interessante funzione "Read to Me" che consente ai bambini che non hanno ancora imparato a leggere a far si che il software legga per loro la parte di testo interessata, oppure l'"Auto-Play" che riproduce l'intero libro come si fa con un film e "Read it myself" che permette ai bambini di tornare a leggere il libro normalmente.

Polaroid ha incluso anche un'applicazione che consente di visualizzare i libri che hanno raccolto il maggior numero di recensioni positive, parliamo di NOOK da Barnes & Noble. Oltre a questo un filtro per la navigazione sicura sul browser tranquillizzerà i genitori perchè i propri bambini non raggiungano siti con contenuti inadatti alla loro età.

The tablet also features Kids Vids, an app that allows children to stream safe and filtered videos for all age groups and Free Play, a simple & unique way to display all the free games/apps available for download from the kid-friendly App Shop.

Equipped with innovative side and rear bumpers to help protect the tablet from accidental bumps as well as built-in parental controls and a safe web browser that are quick and easy to setup, the tablet is designed to provide a safe interactive experience. Also included is the exclusive App Shop which is loaded with a variety of free and paid kid-friendly apps.
